Video: Gun Control Advocates Protest the NRA

| by Michael Allen

About 150 people protested in front of the National Rifle Association’s (NRA) Federal Affairs Division in Washington D.C. today (video below).

People held signs that read: “Teachers stand up to gunmen, but Congress won’t stand up to the NRA” and “ARMS ARE FOR HUGGING — GUN CONTROL NOW," reports ThinkProgress.org.

So far, the NRA has been silent on the shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, which killed 20 children and 6 adults.

Protester Eddie Weingart, who witnessed his mother being shot and killed by her ex-husband with a shotgun, said: “He then turned the gun on me. The gun malfunctioned and that’s the reason why I’m here today.”
