Gun owners in Virginia Beach, Va., will no longer have to pay full price the next time they want a pizza pie.
According to WTKR, local restaurant All Around Pizza will be showing its support for the Second Amendment by offering 15 percent off its pies to gun owners.
“All they have to do is show me that they’re carrying a weapon or they can show me their concealed weapons permit and they can get the discount,” says All Around Pizza owner, Jay Laze.
Laze got the idea after hearing about a Utah frozen yogurt shop that also decided it would starting offering discounts to gun enthusiasts.

“I thought it was a great idea and I was wondering why nobody here was doing it,” Laze says. “It should be happening all around the country.”
According to Laze, the promotion has been getting a great response.
One gun owner, Brendan Kelly, really likes that a business would appreciate a customer such as himself. When talking about the right to bear arms, Kelly, who openly carries a gun, said: “It’s part of our rights as Americans and everybody should be entitled to the option if they want to, so it’s nice to have an incentive.”
Although so far no other local shops have followed the lead set by the pizza shop, Kelly feels that more businesses should cater to gun owners.

“It’s has to start somewhere,” Kelly says. “You know a local pizza shop, a yogurt shop, whatever. It could be the beginning of something larger.”
Like his customer Kelly, Laze also openly carries weapons and has woven his support for gun ownership into the fabric of his business.
“I actually hire delivery drivers that do carry openly,” he says.
Even if he doesn’t end up selling more pizzas, Laze hopes that the promotion will get people talking.
