| by Sarah Fruchtnicht

A 79-year-old Ohio man claims he accidentally shot a farmhand after he mistook her for a groundhog, police said.

Ralph Adams, Jr. says he thought he spotted a groundhog among the tall grass on his Sugar Creek Township farm Monday afternoon.

From about 165 feet away he shot a rifle hitting Natasha Stover, 22, in the head.

Stover, who was lying in the grass shooting at targets with a BB gun, died Tuesday at a local hospital.
