Ohio Cop Pulls Gun On Man Trying To Take Pregnant Wife To Hospital

| by Michael Allen

A police officer reportedly pulled his gun on a man who was speeding home to take his pregnant wife to a hospital last Friday in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

"I was literally about six or seven houses from my home," Samuel Taylor told the Cleveland.com.

Taylor claims that he was stopped by Cleveland Heights Officer William Robinson at about 7:20 a.m. for going 38 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Taylor slowed down and put on his hazard lights, but could not pull over because other cars had parked on the side of the road, so he drove home.

"I froze," Taylor said. "I did not know what to do or where to stop. I was afraid."

"Officer Robinson approached me yelling at me to put my hands up and holding me at gunpoint as if I was threatening his life," he added. "His finger was on the trigger."

Taylor claimed that he told Officer Robinson about his wife, Katie, who had already suffered numerous complications. However, Officer Robinson reportedly kept Taylor outside his home for 20 minutes to search him.

Taylor called the Cleveland Heights Police Department, but said a lieutenant threatened to charge him with a felony.

Next, Officer Robinson allegedly walked up to Taylor's home with his gun drawn.

"My wife said, 'I need my husband to come here,'" stated Taylor. "'I'm going into labor. Please tell me what is going on. I need help.'"

Officer Robinson issued Taylor tickets for speeding and failure to yield for an emergency vehicle, noted CBS Cleveland.

Later, Katie was hospitalized with pregnancy-related complications.

"We're aware of the incident and complaint by the driver, and the matter is currently under review," stated Cleveland Heights City Manager Tanisha Briley. "Upon initial review we are comfortable that the officer followed CHPD protocol appropriately and he conducted himself in a professional manner."
