Obamacare Will Lead to Forced Electro-Shock Therapy, Claims Gun Owners of America (Video)

| by Michael Allen

Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt recently appeared on the "Talk to Solomon Show," where host Stan Solomon read an article about the increase of people using electro-shock therapy (ECT).

According to the Detroit Free Press article, people from ages 18 to 90 are undergoing ECT, which has had great results. The Mayo Clinic says that ECT has a success rate of 70 percent to 80 percent and calls ECT the "gold standard" treatment for severe depression.

However, Solomon mocked ECT and demonized this legitimate mental health treatment, noted RightWingWatch.org (video below).

"They're saying, 'Hey it's quicker than some drugs and all that type of a thing,' Well, so is a bullet. I believe we are going to see things get worse before they get better and you're going to see people examine and treated because they are incorrigible, however they define incorrigible, maybe resisting when people come crashing into your house," claimed Solomon.

Pratt responded with a false claim about Obamacare: “I think part of that is what we’re seeing in Obamacare. This is going to be what you’re talking about several times over.”
