North Carolina Woman Calls Police For Help, Gets Killed By Cop (Video)

Betty Sexton was fatally shot by a police officer at her home in Gastonia, North Carolina, on Feb. 17.

Sexton reportedly called the police to remove two unwanted guests from her home (video below).

She also armed herself with a musket gun, which police considered a threat.

"A musket gun has to take powder that goes down in it, and then you got to use this long rod and put down in it. I think even pellets have to put down in it," Sexton's sister Debra Kennedy told WCCB.

Kennedy claims her sister's musket gun was not loaded, and when police told Sexton to put the archaic firearm down, she began to do so.

But at some point, Officer LaDoniqua Neely shot Sexton in the chest.

Gastonia Police asked the State Bureau of Investigations to investigate the shooting, but the Gaston County District Attorney’s Office will decide whether or not to press charges.

According to the Charlotte Observer, this is the third police-related shooting this year in the small town.
