A male staff member from the Officer Candidate School at Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia killed two Marines before shooting himself this morning.

Marine Lt. Agustin Solivan said that the suspected gunman killed another male staff member of the Officer School at 11 p.m. on Thursday. After the shooting, police and military officials were able to “isolate” the suspect in the barracks. Upon entering the barracks, authorities also found the dead body of a female Marine, according to ABC News. No names have been released and no further information is available at this time.

The base was put on lockdown after the shooting, but the lockdown was lifted shortly after 3 a.m. Friday. "Marine Corps Base Quantico is Code Green at this time. All normal activities are cleared to resume," Quantico said on Twitter.

While the lockdown was happening, residents were warned over a loudspeaker to stay inside.
