Man Stops Burglars By Firing at One and Threatening the Other At Gunpoint

A man in West Virginia was able to stop two home invaders by holding one at gunpoint and shooting the other in the stomach.

Terry Robbins got a call from his neighbors early Saturday morning saying that their alarm system had gone off while they were out of town. When Robinson went to the house to investigate, he discovered two men, who happened to be distant relatives, attempting to break into the home.

Robbins said he had brought his gun with him for protection, and when he saw Jimmy Walker and Justin Blair breaking into the home, he used it to stop them in their tracks.

“I told them both, just please get on the ground, I’ve got a gun, I’ll shoot you, don’t try anything just get on the ground until the police get here,” said Robbins.

As Robbins held Walker and Blair at gunpoint to keep them there until the police arrived, Walker decided to attack Robbins. In an act of self-defense, Robbins shot Walker in the stomach.

Police arrived and arrested Blair while Walker was taken to the hospital by ambulance. While sitting in the back of a police car, Blair broke through the back window of the cruiser and was able to escape. Police eventually caught up with him and took him to the hospital to treat injuries that he sustained from the escape attempt. He was released from the hospital and is now in jail. Walker was in critical condition when he arrived at the hospital and is currently recovering from surgery.

Robbins will likely not face any charges because he has a concealed carry permit and acted in self-defense.
