A man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in a parked car in Brooklyn, New York.

Police found 26-year-old Terrell Ortiz in the Bushwick neighborhood in Brooklyn seriously injured with numerous bullet wounds after responding to a Shotspotter alert around 7 p.m. on June 2, reports WPIX. Ortiz was sitting inside of a Nissan Altima, about a mile from where he lived.

He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

While police have not yet made any arrests in connection to the case, a heavy-set man in his 20s was filmed wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark shoes. Police released video of the man, who may be connected to Ortiz' death.

In the video, one of the suspects got out of a black Nissan Maxima and walked toward Ortiz's vehicle. He went back to the black car and returned with another man. The man in the red sweatshirt appeared to fire several shots at Ortiz.

Police have said that Ortiz was a known member of the Bloods gang, and had two open cases along with a number of prior arrests that had been sealed, according to DNAInfo. His prior arrests included a traffic violation and weapons possession.

Ortiz's relatives said they didn't know who would have wanted to kill him, New York Daily News reports.

"He was starting to do good things for himself and it's unfortunate that someone had it out for him," said Ortiz's uncle, 48-year-old William Mendez.

"If I had known who he is, I probably go kill him, or turn him in to the police," Mendez added. "He's going to be gone for the rest of his life because they're going to put him in prison. And was it worth it?"

In August 2016, a 22-year-old was shot down in Bushwick for no apparent reason as his twin brother watched.

Terrell Henry was shot in the back and neck outside of a deli in front of his twin brother, Derrell.

"We heard the gunshots and we turned around and saw somebody get shot and fall to the ground," said Derrell. "But we didn't realize who it was at the time."

"I realize it's my brother on the floor. I run to try and help him out and then a couple people in the area ... called the cops for us," Derrell recalled.

"When I got to the hospital he was already dead," said the twins' father, George. "They hadn't said it yet. but when I looked at my son, I knew."

George said Terrell and Derrell were simply "at the wrong place at the wrong time," adding, "I don't know if they mistook his identity or took him for someone else" of his son's murderer.
