Brandon Klatt, 19, reportedly took his own life in a Lake City, Fla. pawn shop after asking to look at a shotgun.
Lake City Police said Klatt went to American Pawn Brokers Inc. and asked to check out a shotgun on Wednesday morning, noted RawStory.com (video below).
The pawnshop clerk handed the empty shotgun to Klatt, who loaded it with a shell, reports First Coast News.
"[The clerk] drew his firearm to point it at him because he didn't know if he was going to point the shotgun at him or exactly what was going to go on," Officer Craig Strickland told News 4 Jax.

"Maybe be thought he was going to get robbed, and he just told him to 'put the gun down, put the gun down.' The next thing he knows, the young man stuck it up underneath his head," added Officer Strickland.
Klatt was taken to a local hospital with a serious head wound, but died a short time later.
Police said Klatt had a Michigan driver's license and they found his car parked less than a mile away.
