Adam Poole was hunting duck last Saturday with an unidentified friend in northern Minnesota when he was accidentally shot and killed by his buddy.
Pool and his friend were in a boat, in a channel between two lakes, when they both stood up at the same time to shoot at ducks, but Poole's friend lost his balance and accidentally shot his 23-year-old hunting partner.
"Poole was struck in the head and died from his injuries," said a statement from the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office.
First responders received a call at around 4:45 p.m., but when they arrived at the scene Poole was dead, notes KARE 11.
The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy, but authorities are treating the shooting as an accident.
According to the Daily Mail, Poole married his wife Allison on September 7th.
His Facebook page includes pictures of himself, his wife and the wedding. There are also tributes by friends and family.
