Georgia Man Accidentally Shoots Self at Gun Show

The one place you don't want to fire a weapon is at a gun show -- you'll have hundreds of people reaching for their own weapons in response. Well, that's just what one highly intelligent Georgia man did.

The Savannah Morning News reports that a 26-year-old fellow named Charles Lake was just leaving the Savannah Civic Center on Sunday when his gun accidentally went off in the parking lot. It seems he was reloading the weapon at the time. He suffered a bullet wound to the leg.

Perhaps he was not very familiar with the weapon -- Lake bought this particular gun at the show on Saturday, and returned Sunday to stock up on more pistols.

Police say Lake had to reload outside of the Civic Center because loaded guns were not allowed into the show.

His wound is not considered life-threatening.

Just one more senseless statistic.
