Firearms Groups Plan 'Gun Appreciation Day' for January 19th

Several firearms groups are calling for a 'Gun Appreciation Day' on January 19. Event organizers hope to get the same level of support as the anti-gay 'Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day' received last August.

The event is sponsored by pro-gun groups: the Second Amendment Foundation, Special Operations Speaks, Revolution PAC and the Conservative Action Fund and the Republican consulting firm Political Media, reports Fox News.

These groups are encouraging gun-rights supporters to “send a message” to President Obama two days before his second inauguration by lining up around the block at gun shops, gun ranges and gun shows while carrying a copy of the U.S. Constitution, American flag and a “Hands Off My Guns” sign.

Larry Ward, who is president of Political Media Inc., told Fox News:  “If the American people don’t fight back now, Obama will do to the Second Amendment what he has already done to the First Amendment with Obamacare, gut it without a moment’s thought to our basic constitutional rights."

Ward did not explain or give any examples on how Obamacare gutted the First Amendment.
