Cleveland Police arrested a man accused of threatening to shoot his daughter if she stepped on his dog’s tail.
The father is identified as Daniel Roman. Roman is the father of a 9-year-old girl and two 7-year-old twins. Last month, the children were playing with Roman's dog during a visit.
The 9-year-old kept stepping on the dog’s tail. Her actions bothered Roman so much that he told his daughter, “Step on the dog’s tail again, and I will pull the trigger.”
He allegedly then turned to his younger twin children and said “You tell anyone, I will hurt you and your sisters.”
The girl’s stepfather told Cleveland station KSLA that Roman called him the day after the threat and denied any wrongdoing.
"He called us denying it so I knew there had to be some truth in it,” the stepfather said. “Cause why would he call us if we didn't ask him any questions?"
Roman’s grandmother was present when the alleged threats were made. She denied Roman ever threatened his children with a gun.
After being taken into custody, Roman was charged with menacing, child endangering, and domestic violence. He has pleaded not guilty to all the charges and is due back in court next week.
