Dad Shoots and Kills Man Holding His Daughter Hostage (Video)

| by Dominic Kelly

A St. Louis dad heroically protected his daughter when a stranger put a gun to her head.

Reports say that late Monday night, a 17-year-old girl was retrieving something from her car when she was approached by two men, one of whom held a gun to her head. The men instructed the teen to go home in an attempt to rob her, and it was then that the girl’s father saw her being held at gunpoint.

Quickly, the girl’s father grabbed his gun and began to fire shots at the two men. The girl’s mother also reportedly grabbed a gun and began to fire at the perpetrators, and what started out as a home invasion quickly escalated into a murder case. One suspect, 31-year-old Terrell Johnson, died from his injuries, and the other 33-year-old suspect, Cortez McClinton, currently remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Now, the father of the hostage teen is speaking out, and he says that he was left with no other option in that moment.

“He was holding her hostage,” said the dad. “She was a human shield. So I did what I had to do.”

When asked how he mustered up the courage to fire shots while the gunman was holding his daughter, the father made clear that his instinct took over. “It wasn’t like that. It just happened. I didn’t have no choice. He had my daughter so I did what I had to do.”

The man says that he is sorry for what happened to Johnson, but he maintains that he did what he had to do to protect his daughter.

“My condolences goes out to all the families involved,” said the dad. “I don’t know him. I wish it hadn’t happened. So like I said, to the moms, fathers, all the other people involved, I apologize.”
