Black Friday gun sales hit a record last week with a demand so high that it caused outages at the FBI background check center, reports USA Today.
The FBI reported 154,873 background check requests on Friday, which was a 20 percent increase on last year’s record total of 129,166 checks.

The number of guns sold could be double or more than 154,873 because only one background check is recorded per sale, even if multiple guns are bought.
The sales were fueled bargains and by right wing rumors that President Obama will take away guns during his second term.
Don Gallardo, manager of Shooter’s World in Phoenix, told USA Today: “With the recent election, some people are making buying decisions just in case something (new law) happens."
