Employees at Lance Toland Associates, an aviation insurance company in Griffin, Georgia, are being required to carry guns and have concealed carry licenses (video below).

“Everybody in my office has one of these in their drawer,” Lance Toland told WSB-TV.

“It's a 5 shot, and it's a .410, just like a shotgun,” Toland added.

Toland, who believes guns are the most effective self-defense weapons, came up with this requirement after reports of home invasion robberies and violent crimes in the Atlanta area.

“They all literally had their conceal carry permit within three or four weeks of me announcing that this was something you had to do,” Toland told the news station.

“Most of my employees are women,” Toland added.

“A lot of my clients are, I hate to say, high-fiving me when they hear about this, but they think it's the best things for a company to mandate gun ownership and to be licensed and be responsible."

According to a 2015 study by the Harvard Injury Control Research Center, "States with higher levels of household gun ownership had higher rates of firearm homicide and overall homicide."

In 2015, a different study by researchers at Harvard and Johns Hopkins universities found that police in states with high rates of gun ownership are three times more likely to be killed as officers in states with low rates of gun ownership, reported The Guardian.
