TeaParty.net, a large tea party organization, called for a boycott of Starbucks because of the company's support of gay marriage on Sunday night.
TeaParty.net’s Facebook page posted a link to DumpStarbucks.com. The post has already received over 13,000 ‘Likes,’ reports Mediaite.com.
Last week Starbucks CEO Bill Schultz was questioned by Starbucks shareholder Tom Strobhar whether the company’s support for gay marriage was damaging the stock price.
Popular VideoPeople were so furious about this Pepsi ad that Pepsi pulled it after just one day. Watch it here and decide if it's offensive:
“If you feel, respectfully, that you can get a higher return than the 38 percent you got last year, it’s a free country. You can sell your shares of Starbucks and buy shares in another company. Thank you very much," said Schultz (video below).
DumpStarbucks.com may be the same website used in last year’s boycott against Starbucks by the National Organization for Marriage, which opposes gay marriage.
That boycott began in January 2012 after Starbucks issued a press release expressing its support for the State of Washington’s legislation recognizing same-sex marriage.
The ‘Dump Starbucks’ petition currently has almost 55,000 signatures.
