During an event hosted by Ohio's Cornerstone Baptist Temple, the church decided to hand out a $25 Chick-fil-A gift card to every married, heterosexual couple that attended the “biblical marriage” event on May 19.

The event was published in a local newspaper and circulated around Reddit. It praises Chick-fil-A’s belief in the “biblical definition of the family unit."

"I would match up as many gay and lesbian couples as possible, pretend they are all married, get the vouchers and go have some free chicken. It would be fabulous," Reddit user Jonny1992 wrote on the website.

Chick-fil-A has a history of standing out against gay marriage. CEO Dan Cathy said that he prays for the generation that "has the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is about." Cathy believes that the success of Chick-fil-A has been God’s gift.

A recent movement called “Donate a Chicken Dinner for Marriage Equality” against the fast food chain requests a donation equaling the cost of a Chick-fil-A meal for furthering the legality of gay marriage.
