Conservatives and Republicans have been upset this week over President Obama signing an executive order that extends legal protection for gay and transgender people in employment.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the Employment for Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) executive order says that all branches of the federal government and federal contractors cannot discriminate against employees based on their "sexual orientation and gender identity."
The ENDA order did not include a religious exemption, which many LGBT activisits feared would allow religiously-affiliated businesses to avoid the order.
In response, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) made dire warnings that the “gay community” was promoting polygamy and child rape on Wednesday (audio below), notes RightWingWatch.org.
During an interview with the “Faith & Victory” radio show, Rep. Bachmann claimed there was "hate speech" legislation across the United States to "punish people" who do not agree with the equality-for-gay-people "viewpoint."
"Today, the big push is on transgender," Rep. Bachmann added. "And so they're continuing to push this down the road.
"I believe we're going to see an effort for multiples in marriage, not just two, but multiples in marriage," Rep. Bachmann said. "They want to legalize that. I think they also want to abolish age of consent laws, which means we will do away with statutory rape laws so that adults will be able to freely prey on little children sexually. That’s the deviance that we’re seeing embraced in our culture today.”
However, Rep. Bachmann provided no proof that gay rights activists support adult-child sex or polygamy.
On the same radio program, Rep. Bachmann later claimed that she was spreading "goodness and joy and wholeness and healing" (audio below).
“Our message is to spread goodness and joy and wholeness and healing, and we do that through a loving God with a message that frees people, it doesn’t enslave people, we shouldn’t fear giving out this very good word,” Rep. Bachmann stated.
