New Poll Shows Bernie Sanders Is Most Liked Politician

| by Erik Kindel

A Fox News poll released on March 15 shows the three most favorable politicians or political groups in the U.S. are independent Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Planned Parenthood and Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts.

Sanders and women's healthcare provider Planned Parenthood took the top two spots with wide favorability margins of plus 29 and plus 25, respectively. Warren at plus 8, Vice President Mike Pence at plus 4, and the Affordable Care Act, commonly called "Obamacare," at plus 3 rounded out the top five.

Respondents were asked to rate a number of politicians or political groups based on how favorably or unfavorably the respondents felt about the individual or group. Those subjects with positive net favorability ratings were rated as being viewed strongly or somewhat favorably more often than strongly or somewhat unfavorably.

Pence was the most well-liked Republican in the survey. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky was the least-liked.

The bottom five results were President Donald Trump at minus 9, Republican Speaker of the House Paul Ryan of Wisconsin at minus 10, WikiLeaks at minus 15, Democratic House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California at minus 17 and McConnell at minus 25.

The Fox poll shows that many view the Republicans in power unfavorably, with leading GOP lawmakers accounting for three of the bottom five spots.

Meanwhile, Sanders remains popular despite his unsuccessful bid to become the Democratic nominee in the presidential elections. Sanders is the longest-serving independent in congressional history.

Planned Parenthood and Obamacare continue to remain popular as the GOP tries to repeal both. Planned Parenthood receives wide partisan support, but the far-right keeps the organization controversial, reports The Washington Post.
