A former Korean model, Hang Mioku, became so addicted to plastic surgery that she began injecting cooking oil into her face, eventually disfiguring herself permanently.

She was only 28 years old when she began getting silicone injections in her face. She wanted smooth and firm skin, and believed the injections would help her achieve the perfect face.

But eventually, doctors began refusing to treat her, as they believed she had a psychological disorder.

It was then that she began injecting herself with black market silicone, and when that ran out, she used cooking oil.

Mioku was featured on a Korean television show where thousands donated money for her to receive corrective surgery.

She received 10 operations which included removing 60g of silicone, oil and other foreign substances from her face and 200g from her neck.

Despite the surgeries, she was still disfigured. Now, she says she wants her old face back.

Getting her old face back may never happen, as most of the damage is permanent.

Mioku is now almost 50 years old and works at a recycled clothes shop called The Beautiful Shop.
