Florida Teacher's Job in Limbo After He Planted a Pair of Women's Panties in a Student's Locker

A middle school teacher in Florida may be able to return to his job next school year after getting into trouble for putting a pair of purple panties in a student’s locker.

The teacher, Raymond Wantroba, admitted to planting the underwear in the locker after initially denying that he had anything to do with it.

Back in February, the physical education teacher confiscated a pair of women’s laced underwear from some students, took a picture with them, and placed them in a student’s locker. When the student opened his locker and discovered the panties, a group of 30 or 40 other students witnessed it and started to laugh. Wantroba reportedly also laughed at the student and made fun of him for having the underwear.

The student reported the incident to his mother, who in turn took her son to the assistant principal. Reports claim that, during the case’s hearing, Wantroba told a judge that he had nothing to do with what happened, but the judge confirmed that during a school district investigation, Wantroba actually admitted to everything.

In a report, the state administrative law judge wrote that Wantroba said, “he did not intend to hurt any student and was remorseful for his behavior.”

Back in April, the school board recommended that Wantroba be fired for the incident, but after examining the case and taking into consideration the teacher’s history, the judge decided he should keep his job.

According to the judge’s ruling, Wantroba will be suspended without pay for the rest of this school year, at which point the district will have the authority to make the final decision as to whether or not they will reinstate him.
