A boater off the coast of Clearwater, Florida, found a gruesome catch in a crab trap on the morning of Dec. 1.

The body of a middle-aged white man who was described as having brown hair, a mustache and a goatee, was caught in the trap, which had become snagged in a rope, Bay News 9 reports.

Though it’s unclear how the victim died or if foul play was involved, he was wearing blue swimming trunks, The St. Petersburg Tribune reported. Police ask that if anyone knows of a missing person to contact them at (727) 562-4420.

This isn’t the first time a crab trap has snagged a human body. In 2011, two fishermen in North Vancouver, Canada, came across a decomposing scuba diver caught in a crab trap, CBC News reported at the time. The remains were later identified as belonging to 29-year-old Peter Devoe, who had been missing for 26 years. Foul play was ruled out in Devoe’s death, and it was determined that he was experiencing equipment problems before he failed to surface.
