A Florida woman was arrested and charged with child neglect after she allegedly left her child in a hot car while applying for a job on Monday at Goodwill.

Victoria Patrice Baker, 22, left her child in her car for 20 to 30 minutes, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

A witness told police a child with sweat covering his face was in a car seat in the back of the car with the windows rolled up and the ignition off.

Police were about to break a window on the vehicle when Baker ran outside.

She was arrested shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday.

The child, whose age was not reported, was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Baker was taken to Duval County Jail and is scheduled to make her first appearance in court this morning.
