Florida Dad Accidentally, Fatally Shot Daughter, 6, In Head

Evan Hernandez reportedly shot his daughter, 6-year-old Izabella Votta, by accident in Panama City, Florida, on Sunday.

The Panama City Police Department has turned over the results of its investigation to the 14th Judicial Circuit State Attorney’s Office, which will decide if any criminal charges will be made against Hernandez.

Court papers said that Hernandez was in an apartment "practicing form in front of the mirror and the gun … accidentally went off and went through the mirror and the wall and fatally injured the daughter," noted The News Herald.

According to the police report, officers answered a 911 call on Sunday morning, and found that the girl had been shot in the head.

The girl was taken to a local hospital where she died. The police report added that “it appears the shooting was accidental.”

Jenneffer Azcuvy, a friend of Izabella's family, has set up a Go Fund Me page to help raise money for the child's funeral expenses.

Azcuvy told WJHG that Izabella's family didn't have a life insurance policy.
