A surveillance video (below) has been released of Kissimmee, Florida, Police Officer Mario Badia throwing a 13-year-old boy to the floor inside a city middle school on May 8.
“He came in with such a hostile manner, like he was ready for war,” Alexis Richmond, the boy's mother, told WFTV.
Badia, who working at the Kissimmee Middle School as a resource officer, was suspended with pay, and charged with felony child abuse.
According to Badia's arrest report, he shoved the boy, lifted him off the floor and slammed him down, even though the teen did not show any resistance, and then twisted the child's wrist for 42 seconds, notes WESH.
Richmond insists the police should not have been called simply because her son was talking back to her.
The Richmond family is considering a lawsuit.
