A five-year-old girl from T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School in Louisiana has read 875 library books in one school year, forcing the library to order more.

Sophia Moss just finished reading the kindergarten section at T.S. Cooley Elementary Library, and has moved on to the first grade section.

"A lot of the days I read books. It's just a couple days I don't read," she said. "I just like reading!"

Librarian Mary Lanier said, "I told Sophia, I said we're going to have to order more books for T.S. Cooley Library because she's read so many of them and enjoys so many of them."

This judge looked an inmate square in the eyes and did something that left the entire courtroom in tears:

"This is very unusual for a kindergartner, especially to read this many books in a year's time. Very unusual."

Her father, Carl, encourages his daughter to read. He helps her pick out books each week. They started checking out just five books a week but soon built up to 20 books a week.

"She'd be reading instead of sleeping," Carl said. "She loves to read and she does it all the time."

Sophia has even written her own book about a turtle with super powers.

"The book that I wrote that I made all by myself and my dad helped me make it," Sophia said proudly of her work. It is called "Sophia's Pet."

"It's fascinating. We had a lot of help," Carl said.
