| by Nathaly Pesantez

Fifteen of the world's 30 unfriendliest cities can be found in the United States, according to a new poll by "Travel + Leisure."

The magazine's list of the least friendly cities in the world was released on Aug. 28.

In it, New Jersey's Atlantic City and Los Angeles, California fell within the top five least friendly places, with Moscow, Russia, taking the number one spot. St. Petersburg, another Russian city, was listed as number 3, with Marseille, France coming in at 4.

Readers said Los Angeles residents are rude, unhelpful, and pretentious, and those who denounced Atlantic City also cited its rude residents.

New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Miami, Washington D.C., and Boston were among the more well-known U.S. cities on the list.

"New York has everything -- just don't ask a person in the street to help you  find it," one reader said.

"The attitude is awful. Random strangers will comment on [you] -- Mind your own business, Boston!" another reader said.

Of the non-U.S. cities on the list, 10 of are in Europe, three in Asia, one in Africa, and one in South America.

Readers were asked to rank 266 cities, and rated them based on their value to its people. The magazine reportedly received responses from nearly 200,000 people.

The magazine also said the results of the poll match with the results of another recent poll -- the 2015 Unfriendliest Cities in America list.
