A widow and her daughter released a note inside of a balloon at the grave of their beloved husband and father, and they were stunned when they later found it at their home.
“He was diagnosed in September,” Sandy Seibold told KFOR News of his late husband Johnny’s battle with cancer (video below). “He passed away in May.”
On their first Father’s Day without him, Seibold and her daughter, Saige, released balloons at his grave in with a note addressed to whoever ended up finding it.
“We thought the idea of sending balloons to heaven sounded good,” Seibold said.

When Saige’s balloon release didn’t go as planned, Seibold said she prayed that they would fly on the second try. Minutes later, a gust of wind caught them and they floated away.
When Seibold arrived home in Cement, Oklahoma, after a 25 mile drive from the cemetery, she was shocked to discover the note tangled in a fence at the pasture downhill from their home.
“What are the chances?” she said. “I think I started crying. It felt like a message from him.”
Though both Seibold and her daughter are still mourning, they feel a bit more at peace knowing that their beloved husband and father is still with them.
