Teacher John Webster Sues School After Being Beat Up by First Grader Rodrigo Carpio
Bullying in schools has been in the headlines quite a bit these days, but a recent story from Queens, New York, sounds almost unbelievable.
Elmhurst school gym teacher John Webster claims that first grader Rodrigo Carpio, 6, fractured Webster's ankle, injured his knee and forced him into psychological therapy.
Carpio also allegedly kicked and pinched the Elmhurst school’s principal, a security officer and another teacher on April 26.
Webster, who recently filed an intent to sue the city, told the NY Post: “It’s sort of like an angel-devil sort of thing. [Rodrigo] looks like an angel, but then, all of a sudden, that halo turns into horns. It’s been a nightmare. It’s embarrassing. It’s humiliating.”
In response, Rodrigo’s dad, Jorge Carpio, said: "The lawsuit is totally absurd. How could my little boy do so much damage? My poor son."
Rodrigo’s dad mom, Josefa Marcia da Silva, also defended her fifty-pound son: "This is a terrible thing to say [about] a child. To every mother, their child is an angel. I know that he has problems, but he doesn’t deserve to be called such names."
Webster, who wears braces on his right ankle and knee, described the attack: "I tried to hold his wrists, and he began biting me. I took him to the principal’s office, and he kicked me in the ankle, and one kick landed right on my knee. I felt a pop."
Webster’s lawyer, Andrew Siben, told the NY Post that school officials were repeatedly warned: "This kid is clearly a tiny terror. It’s sad that teachers like Mr. Webster are not offered protection from someone who can endanger other teachers and students."

That little bastard needs his
That little bastard needs his dirty little ass spanked till it bleeds. The whole reason he's such a little bastard is obvious... lack of discipline and proper punishment.
Well, NOT til he
Well, NOT til he bleeds,....but does need a pretty good job done!! Parents need to see that this is what happens when they don't discipline their kids at home. They only get worse, often times, 'til they are unmanageable as young adults. I can only suppose that so many miscreants are among us now that we may find another war soon by which God will dispose of some...or teach them better. (sadly -- about disposing of some, that is)
As for "forced him into psychological therapy", lol, it figures.
I'm sorry teachers must
I'm sorry teachers must resort to lawsuits for protection in their own work places. As a taxpayer I want my money to educate as many children as possible, but teachers, staff and other children deserve to be safe. The public and community deserve to be safe. If the parents will not or cannot discipline this child he must be removed from the school and his behavior documented for the protection of others. The school system & community should assist his parents in finding help, but if they refuse to have this child evaluated & treated, they will have to home school him. I would not want my child or spouse exposed to this boy. Early treatment and anger management could save this child, but as long as his parents refuse to face their responsibilities society must protect others from becoming his victims.
There are children like that
There are children like that even in first grade. Unless addressed they get worse. There are actually school board where such a behavior by a child would result in their expulsion.
We had a kid in my
We had a kid in my neighborhood who at 7 was dumping over trash cans, and according to another neighbor, killed his cat with a screwdriver and engaged in various outrageous behavior inspite of what any adult said to him. I understand his father thought it was funny to throw knives near the boy and his friends as they sat on the front lawn. I believe he destroyed a rose bush in my front yard and threw eggs at my front door athough I had never seen the kid nor knew him at all. He eventually set his parents house on fire and they moved. I think this kid was on his way to becoming a serial killer or some other lofty criminal enterprise.
Not my son. He would never do
Not my son. He would never do such a thing. It's never your own kid.
