Male and female college students at Saint Mary’s University were caught on a 15-second video reciting a cheer for underage rape, which was uploaded to Instagram on Monday.

The incident happened during orientation activities for freshman students on the school’s football field in Halifax, Canada.

The students have reportedly done the cheer for years during the so-called “frosh week,” noted CBC News (video below).

The cheer includes: “Y is for your sister, O is for oh so tight, U is for underage, N is for no consent, G is for grab that a**, SMU boys, we like them young.”

The university is now requiring all 80 of the frosh week leaders and student union executives to take sensitivity training.

Jared Perry, the student union president, apologized and said: “It will not continue in the future.”

University President Colin Dodds released this statement: “A recent Orientation Week event involving student leaders chanting inappropriate and offensive lyrics is completely inexcusable, and violates our University’s commitment to upholding the values of equality and respect.”

“My colleagues and I were shocked by this incident and are deeply sorry that our students, and now the community at large, were exposed to disturbing sexually-charged material. The University regrets that this was allowed to occur and we apologize unreservedly. I am taking measures to ensure it does not happen in the future.”
