Christopher Kirby, a lawyer for the East Ramapo School District in New York state, was recently caught on video completely losing his cool. Yelling repeatedly at parents, curse-words galore, Kirby didn’t even curb his use of what is often thought of as the worst thing you could possibly call a women. And the icing on the cake is that his whole tirade was aimed at a group of parents, on school property.
The NY Daily News recaps what when down before the parking lot meltdown:
During the comment period at the tail end of a five-hour school board meeting Tuesday night, parent and education activist Peggy Hatton began speaking about how her son, a special-education student at Spring Valley High School, had failed the science portion of the Regent’s exam by a single point. Kirby, who sat alongside the members of the board, interrupted Hatton’s remarks with an audible laugh. “Is it funny? I’m sorry. Shame on you,” Hatton said before Kirby stood and exited the meeting.
Kirby soon re-entered the meeting, only to further ridicule Hatton. When she asked the other members of the board to kindly remove Kirby, they did nothing.
Reportedly, the school board will be holding a meeting next week to discuss how the situation should be dealt with.
“It's something that we need to get together as a group and discuss and ... decide what is the proper course of action,” says Board of Education President Yehuda Weissmandl.
