A Florida man who was allegedly drunk driving was arrested Tuesday night after he reportedly intimidated another driver by banging on her window and then was run over by his own truck.
Joseph H. Carl, 48, rode his vehicle into the back of another car while it was at a stoplight on the night he was arrested, according to the Gainesville Sun.
He then left his car to bang on the window of the woman in front of him angrily. After scaring the other driver and her car away, his Dodge 1500 truck started rolling forward toward him because he had forgotten to put it in park, according to Gainesville officials.
Carl tried to refuse medical treatment after the vehicle ran over him and also refused to take a breathalyzer test from police, who found numerous empty beer cans in his car.
Carl said that he had drank some while driving back to his house, and he failed other police sobriety tests the night he was arrested.
Officials then transported him to a local hospital where he was found to have fractures in his hand and foot. His blood-alcohol level was reportedly 0.22 at the time, far above the legal limit for driving.
