Drunk Driver Kills His 6-Year-Old Niece

Daniel Case, 34, already had three driving-while-intoxicated convictions. That didn’t stop him from getting behind the wheel after drinking again, but this time he crashed into his brother’s Pueblo, Colorado, home, killing his 6-year-old niece on March 20.

Before Daniel crashed into his brother Charles’s home, they fought. Charles then drove his daughter, AJ, home, and as they were about to walk through their front door, Daniel drove his car through the door, hitting the child.

AJ was transported to Parkview Medical Center, where she later died. Daniel was also hospitalized.

Investigators aren’t sure if the argument had anything to do with the crash, but Daniel has been charged with vehicular homicide and DUI.

The family has since started a GoFundMe page to cover AJ’s funeral costs. “Our precious angel was taken to be with the Lord yesterday evening due to a tragic accident,” the page reads. “If you can find it in your heart to help this grief stricken family it would certainly help lighten their burden during this difficult time.”

So far, $6,570 has been donated.
