Woman in Jail Despite Claims That She Believed Smuggled Marijuana Was Actual Grass

| by Dominic Kelly

A woman was traveling by train from Copenhagen, Denmark to Malmo, Sweden when customs agents discovered that she had 15 pounds of marijuana on her in a purple bag.

The woman admitted to a Swedish court that she had indeed been carrying “grass” with her, but claimed that she honestly thought it was real grass for a lawn and not drugs. She even claimed that she wasn’t aware that “grass” was another name for marijuana.

Her claims didn’t hold up in court, however, and the woman was sentenced to two years and three months in prison. Her brother-in-law was also sentenced to two years and three months in jail after authorities discovered his fingerprints on the purple bag.

A couple of years ago, reports surfaced on the Internet that Sweden had legalized marijuana, but after much hype, it was discovered that it was a hoax.
