Authorities were called to a Wal-Mart in Muncie, Indiana on March 12 at around 11:30 p.m. after employees noticed a suspicious backpack in the men’s restroom.

Upon arrival, troopers opened the backpack and found an active meth lab inside, Fox 59 reports.

The Star Press notes the term “meth lab” does not just apply to a facility used to produce meth. It can also apply to smaller items, such as a 2-liter soda bottle, which is frequently used to mix the contents used in cooking meth.

Members of an Indiana State Police meth suppression team were called to dismantle the lab and remove all potentially dangerous chemicals from the store. The restrooms were closed by Delaware County Health Department inspectors and will remain closed until they are decontaminated by a professional cleaning firm, The Star Press reports.

An investigation is currently under way to figure who left the backpack in the Wal-Mart restroom.

An ISP press release stated that meth cooks “are now often leaving behind the deadly explosive chemicals in public places to return later to get the finished product.” This is to avoid explosions and contaminations in their own homes.

Police have been cracking down on local residents buying products used in meth production and have made several arrests.
