Dog Comes To Woman's Rescue After She Is Harassed On Beach

| by Sean Kelly

A woman who was being harassed by two men on a beach in Crete, Greece, was reportedly saved by a heroic dog.

Georgia Bradley was approached by the men while her boyfriend was in a nearby cafe, Metro.co.uk reported. They offered for her to join them for a drink, but she declined. The men then became aggressive, with one grabbing her arm.

Suddenly, a black dog approached and barked at the men until they left.

“[The dog] saved me,” Bradley, 25, said, according to Metro.co.uk. “She must have noticed something was wrong. When I went back to the apartment she followed me and finally let us stroke her. We had an instant bond.”

Bradley named the dog Pepper, and the two became fast friends. The next day, before leaving to return home to Cornwall, England, Bradley attempted to find a home for Pepper. She was turned away by both a local animal shelter and a veterinarian.

“When we left to go to the airport, we looked back and Pepper was running after the car. It was heartbreaking,” she said.

Bradley and her boyfriend went home, but she couldn’t get the dog out of her mind. She knew that something needed to be done.

“I took the soonest flight back out that I could, which was two weeks later,” she said.

Bradley returned to Crete and had Pepper classified as a stray, paid for her vet treatment, and got her a passport.

After 21 days in quarantine, Pepper was allowed to come home and be with her new family.

In an even happier twist to the story, Pepper gave birth to six puppies just a week after coming home to Cornwall.
