Harlem Grandmother Finds Dead Body in 55-Gallon Drum in Grandson’s Bedroom
Police found a man’s body crammed into a 55-gallon drum in a Harlem apartment on Saturday night. They were alerted about the body after a grandmother called the police because she noticed an extremely foul smell wafting from her grandson’s bedroom. Authorities arrived at the apartment at 2400 Seventh Avenue and found the corpse stuffed into the drum.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. The identity of the man is not known at this time, reports The Daily Mail.
Police have also declined to release any details about the grandson who was housing the barrel. He was taken into police custody but has not yet officially been named a suspect. Neighbors of the grandson have been questioned in the matter. His name has not been released.
