Tyeesha Mobley, 29, called 911 to ask the police to talk to her children about why stealing is wrong.
What was supposed to be a clear lesson in good and bad went awry — DNAinfo reported Tyeesha claims she was handcuffed, roughed up and her children were taken from her for four months.
Tyeesha asked the police to talk to her children after her 9-year-old son stole $10 from her purse in April 2014. Dispatch sent four officers to meet with Tyeesha who lives in the Bronx, New York.
“They started asking Tyleke what did he take,” Tyeesha said at a preliminary hearing in October 2014. “He told them. And about three officers was joking around with him, telling him, 'You can’t be stealing, you’ll wind up going in the police car.’”

The fourth officer was upset Tyeesha contacted the police. “You black b****es don’t know how to take care of your kids … you need to call the kids’ father, not us … we can’t raise your kids … why are you wasting our time, we aren’t here to raise your kid … why don’t you take your f***ing kid and leave?” the officer said, according to the lawsuit filed against the New York Police Department and the Administration for Children’s Services.
The officer arrested her. When she asked why she was being detained, the officer said, “If you’re going to say another f***ing word, I’m going to knock your teeth down your throat.” He then threw her against he police car and kicked her, the suit claims.
“All I was saying is, ‘Please stop, you’re hurting me, my kids is there,’” she said.
Her children were frightened and another officer tried to intervene, but according to the lawsuit, the police officer said, “Black b****es like that … this is how I treat them.” She was bruised so badly, she had to be taken to the hospital.
Tyeesha was charged with child endangerment, but a judge later dismissed the charges. While she was fighting for her children in court, Tyleke and his brother Keyshawn were placed in foster care with a woman who only spoke Spanish, Tyeesha claims. The lawsuit also notes Keyshawn was burned while he was in foster care and Tyleke had several asthma attacks.
NYPD has not commented on the case.
