A San Bernardino, California, woman is mourning the loss of her 9-year-old son and the boy’s father after they were fatally shot at a local liquor store parking lot on July 8.
Ebony Newman, 27, was walking by Superior Liquor & Grocery store with her husband and two daughters when she noticed there had been a shooting, the Los Angeles Times reported. She was told one of the victims was an 11-year-old boy, but she didn’t know she was given the wrong information.
She was shocked after she found out the young victim was her son.
"I pulled up to the scene, thinking it’s another situation in San Bernardino, and it’s my baby," Newman told the Los Angeles Times. "What mom in her mind would think, that’s my baby? This is not right. This is not right."
