Woman Said Husband 'Jesus Christ' Would Pay Her Restaurant Bill, Say Police

| by Michael Allen

Kristi Rhines reportedly ordered several drinks and food at a restaurant in Lawton, Okla., last Friday night, but told workers at the El Chico that her husband would pay the $56.55 bill.

After she was asked who her husband was, Rhines told the restaurant that his name was Jesus Christ, reports KSWO.

Rhines was not able to produce proof of her marriage, but assured the restaurant that Jesus would indeed walk in and pay her bill, according to UPI.

The restaurant didn't believe Rhines and called the police.

Lawton police didn't buy her story and booked Rhines into jail on a charge of fraud, noted KFOR.
