West Virginia Police: Woman Shoots Husband, Says She Was 'Tired' Of Him

| by Tony Tran

Law enforcement officials discovered recently that a woman arrested for endangerment with a firearm did so because she was “tired of her husband” and decided to shoot him.

Kimberly Rector, 54, was arrested after she waited for her husband Bob Rector, 67, to exit the White Front Tavern and Grill in Taylor County, West Virginia, at the corner of George Washington Highway and Wendell Road, according to WDTV. When he exited, she reportedly shot him multiple times with the .17 caliber gun.

She reportedly told police that she never shot a gun before the incident and was not initially aware that she had shot him. She also said she shot the gun because she was "tired of her husband," according to the criminal complaint.

WDTV pointed out that there was no evidence that the suspect was in the White Front Tavern and Grill before the shooting or that any altercation began inside the establishment.

The shooting occurred at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Kimberly said that she then put the gun back into her husband’s vehicle and waited until law enforcement officials arrived.

Witnesses at the scene said that she had fired the weapon several times.

When emergency medical technicians arrived, they cared for Bob before flying him off to Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia to treat a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Kimberly reportedly said that “their daughters were going to be really mad at her.”

After her arrest, officials charged the mother with wanton endangerment with a firearm.
