Woman Charged With Raping Man While He Slept

A Seattle woman allegedly broke into a man’s apartment and raped him while he slept.

Chantae Gilman, 26 and weighing 240 pounds, did not know the unnamed 31-year-old victim. He claims she was an acquaintance of another man in his duplex and “a drug user in the area.”

The victim told police he went home alone after attending a birthday party for a neighbor the night of the attack and “slept very hard due to a long day.”

He was awoken at 2 a.m. to find Gilman on top of him with his erect penis inside of her.

The Daily Mail reports the victim’s hands had been “pinned down over his head.”

His pleas for Gilman to get off of him were ignored until he eventually was able to get out from beneath her.

Gilman was removed from the apartment and the victim went to Harborview Medical Center for a sexual assault examination.

Gilman claims she has no memory of entering the victim’s home or having sex with him.

“She said that she has a mental illness and suffers from Bipolar disorder and Psychosis,” Detective Roger Ishimitsu said.

Gilman was a match in a DNA test from the sexual assault kit.

Recent Facebook posts from Gilman state she has been sober for two months and is 31 weeks pregnant.  Gilman is the mother of two young children.

The attack took place in June and second-degree rape charges have been filed against Gilman for her assault of a victim “incapable of consenting to sexual intercourse by reason of being physically helpless.”

Gilman has prior felony convictions for attempted robbery, possession of a stolen vehicle, and several misdemeanor convictions, reports The Smoking Gun.

Detectives stated it is unusual for a female to be charged with such a crime.

“From a statistical standpoint, yes, it is atypical to have a female aggressor," said Detective Drew Fowler.
