Kimberly A. Jacobs, 47, beat her mother with a frying pan before hitting her with a hammer in their Dover, Pennsylvania, home on Sept. 5, leaving her with multiple skull fractures and blood loss.
On Feb. 12, Kimberly pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person. The attempted murder charge was dismissed, in addition to a second count of aggravated assault and one count of simple assault.
The Patriot-News reported Kimberly was sentenced to 1 year minus 1 day to 2 years minus 2 days in prison, plus 2 years of probation.
"My daughter was trying to kill me because I was crying," Lenore told police. "She just kept hitting me."
As she was being escorted by police, Jacobs said, “I just wanted peace and quiet for once."
Kimberly was taking care of her ailing mother at the time of he incident. William Jacobs, Kimberly’s father, was taking care of Lenore until he fell ill too.
Kimberly planned to kill both of her parents before committing suicide. She attempted to blugeon her mother to death with the frying pan before discovering it was ineffective, and switching to a hammer.
She has been ordered to undergo a mental-health evaluation and comply with any treatment.
