Border officers discovered a woman hiding under the backseat of a car as she attempted to cross into the U.S. through the U.S.-Mexico border, authorities reported on Tuesday.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Otay Mesa port of entry stopped an illegal attempt to enter the U.S. on Friday morning, Fox 5 News reported. They discovered the undocumented woman hiding in a 1995 Honda Civic.

When a 30-year-old woman from the U.S. attempted to cross the border with a young girl in her car, officers sent her to the inspection area because she appeared nervous. An imaging system also detected anomalies in the Honda’s gas tank and the back seat of the car.

Officers then removed the child seat and discovered a hidden compartment where a 23-year-old Mexican woman was hiding.
