Caitlin Rae Treadway, 20, has been charged with stealing money from patrons of AMF Shrader Lanes, a bowling alley in Henrico, Virginia.

Treadway, who worked as a waitress, allegedly added extra tips to her customers’ credit card bills and stole a total of $125 in September, WTVR reported. Treadway’s bosses reported the illegal activity to police, and the waitress was arrested on Oct. 13.

Treadway will face charges including credit card larceny, credit card fraud and petit larceny. The bowling alley is reimbursing its customers.

According to Better Business Bureau spokesman Tom Gallagher, it’s hard to protect yourself from fraud of this nature, but keeping your receipts can help.

"Check your monthly bill you get from MasterCard or Visa or American Express," he told WTVR. "Make sure you check that bill up against the receipts that you keep.”

Treadway is behind bars.
