A violent mob hit the normally quiet seaside town of Huntington Beach, California on Sunday night.
They broke into a bike shop (video below), clashed with cops and tipped over portable toilets.
According to NBC Los Angeles, the crowd had originally gathered for Vans U.S. Open of Surfing, which features surfing, skateboarding and BMX biking.
However, around 7 p.m. a fight broke out and led to the mob mayhem.
The Huntington Beach Police Department said that eight people were arrested.
Some people wore bandanas across their faces as they threw objects at police, who were dressed in riot gear and fired back with pepper balls.
One witness recorded the Easyrider bike shop being looted on his cell phone.
"We were all huddled inside the building and we had the lights off because all the people were up here mobbing around, and I was inside and I saw them tearing down the stop sign," said bike shop employee Burt Etheredge.
"As soon as that stop sign came down, I knew that stop sign was coming through the window. And sure enough, two seconds later, it did."
One man stole a bicycle before other people in the crowd defended the store.
