Samuel Williams, 71, recently stopped a robbery at the Palms Internet Cafe in Ocala, Florida by shooting two criminals; the incident was caught on a surveillance video (below).
The two robbers came through the doors, with a baseball bat and a gun, around 10 pm. on Friday, and demanded that the 30+ customers drop on the floor and give them money.
The customers followed orders except for Williams, who started shooting at the robbers, who ran for the exit.
Williams then locked the door and waited for the police.
According to Fox News, the two men got into a car and fled.
Police later responded to a call from two men who claimed they were shot at a baseball field, but there was no evidence to prove this.
Police put the facts together and arrested Davis G. Dawkins and Duwayne Henderson for the attempted robbery. Both 19-year-olds were transported to Shands Hospital at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, for gunshot wounds.
Dawkins told police that he had been an employee at the cafe but was fired, and allegedly told Henderson that there was "a lot of money there."
Henderson complained about Williams' shooting, after he was already on the ground: "I was down, and I’m not going to continue to shoot you."
