In Garden Grove, California, the 65-year-old female owner of Continental Jewelry picked up a gun and shot at five masked men who tried to rob her (video below).
The five armed men backed a SUV in front of the store and then entered. Two men pointed guns at customers and employees, while the other three men demanded money, according to Garden Grove Police Lt. Jeff Nightengale.
That's when the owner fired two shots at the would-be robbers, who fled the store, jumped in their SUV and sped away, reports the OC Register.
Police Lt. Jeff Nightengale told OC Register: "She said she feared the suspects were going to shoot either the employees or the customer and felt she had to take action. Obviously the best thing to do is to cooperate so no one gets hurt."
Police think this attempted robbery may be connected to another robbery at the Asian Garden Mall, last week.
